"I AM ABLE" COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT REPORT

On the 19th March, the VIP fellows together with their host organistion and volunteer facilitators met a group of 17 women from Kulim, Lunas and their neighbouring areas, having as aim to create a contact and a safe discussion place between the representatives of our target group and our project/ organization, in order to gain a better understanding and insight into the needs and challenges of the community.

The 17 women shared their life experiences, their hardships but also their vision of the future in an event that they have considered more of a support group rather then a former assessment process.

Our team had the privilege of being witness to self reflection processes in which some discovered that strength to go forward, the deep needs of fellow women, but also the fact that not everyone had ever imagined an individual future, as protecting and providing for their families came first and foremost.
